Merry Christmas from Primary 1b

We have had a very busy last two week of school.  We loved being in the nativity and  have been making lots of surprises for Christmas day!  Oskar liked putting the decoration on our advent calendar and having a wee choloclate too!  Iona liked making a decoration.  Linda enjoyed making her own Christmas card.

We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas Craft in P7a

P7a have been busy completing some Christmas craft activities this week.  Here are some of our fabulous reindeer and sleighs.  Some of us have added trees onto the background while others have made Santa and some pressies to put into the sleigh.  Well done everyone!

Thanks to our resident photographer Natalia too – good job!  Merry Christmas everyone from Mrs Lloyd and P7a x

A busy week in P7

On Friday, P6 & 7 handed in their points homework based on the topic of ‘Our World’.  Each pupil had a number of weeks to prepare 40 points worth of homework.  We will be presenting our work on Thursday 19th December at 2.15pm and invite parents to come in and interact with our excellent work.

Mrs Molife and Mrs Kendal from JYHS paid us a visit today with the results of the maths challenge.  Although we didn’t win the trophy we all did well and had fun.  Congratulations to the Space Stars team (Tamzin W, Courtney, Shannon W, Maria & Demileigh) who were the overall winning team representing Bankton.

We have been practising our dances and games for our party on Tuesday coming and are really looking forward to it.

Lately we have been rehearsing for the Carol Service and some P7 pupils have been selected to read parts of the Christmas story.

We have enjoyed sorting and delivering the Christmas post but sadly the last day for collection is Monday.

The whole school was invited to see the P1-3 dress rehearsal of their show ‘Gabriel’s Big Break’.  We thought they were all Bankton stars and are sure that the parents would have enjoyed the shows too!

Fact of the Week

Did you know when volcanoes erupt they send ash into the air over 17 miles high?

Christmas fun

Primary 5 have been learning various social dances including, Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant, Military Two Step and Canadian Barn Dance. They are great fun and we will be dancing them at our Christmas party this afternoon. Barry thinks social dance, “is fun because I like learning dance moves.”
We have been learning about Saints and know the Patron Saints of Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. Owen thought, “the saints were very interesting because you learned what good things they did for Christianity.”
We have had wonderful success with our Christmas Enterprise and only have a few items left to sell. Emma, “had fun selling and you really had to persuade people to buy more crafts.”
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Stars in our eyes!

The boys and girls in primary 1 to 3 wowed their parents and family friends with amazing performances in their rendition of Gabrielle’s Big Break this week.  We were so proud of them as they sang beautifully, acted out their lines with expression and remembered to come in on cue!  Both performances entertained, provided Christmas cheer and I am sure brought a tear to some eyes!  Well done, boys and girls!  You are all stars!

Nursery Week

We have a new member of staff, our Apprentice Nursery Janitor – Scott McFarlane . Scott comes on a Friday morning to organize our outdoor area and takes out paper waste to the recycling area.

We are all excited about next weeks activities which start on Monday with Magic Mac.

Christmas Joke

One of the boys getting into the Christmas spirit to us this morning ” There was no room in the bin.”

Busy, Busy, busy!

Primary 2 have had a very busy week, we’ve participated in ‘Gabriel’s Big Break’ twice (as well as some last minute rehearsals), we’ve been rehearsing for next week’s Carol Service and we still found time to make our enterprise decorations and learn more about the nativity story.

We’ve finished our enterprise now and some of our parent’s have already bought our Christmas Tree Decorations.  We made them using salt dough, they are in the shape of our hands, but they are Santa!
