To publish a post

To publish a post to the blog, click on the link on the right-hand column which reads ‘Site Admin’. Now click the button at the top of the page which says ‘New Post’.

After entering the heading and main content of your post, choose any categories from the list which are appropriate to your post. You should also add a tag for your own name which will make it easier for other users to search for your posts. The name tags take the form of your first initial followed by a full stop followed by your surname (no spaces). In most cases, the blog will recognise you after a few letters have been typed and display your name for selection. As people post, their names will appear in the tag cloud on the right-hand side of the screen. The size of a name in the tag cloud indicates the relative number of posts made by that individual.

When you have finished, click on the ‘Publish’ button.

To search for a post

On the right hand side of the page, you can see various ways of searching for posts which have been made to the blog. You can select a date from the calendar, choose a category  or choose a tag, You can also enter text into the search box which will display any posts containing that text.

Clicking on the blog heading at the top of the page will always bring you back to this home page.
