{"id":123,"date":"2019-01-15T21:21:17","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T21:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/st\/stirlinginclusionsupportservice\/?page_id=123"},"modified":"2019-01-25T11:07:49","modified_gmt":"2019-01-25T11:07:49","slug":"resilient-kids","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/st\/stirlinginclusionsupportservice\/resilient-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Resilient Kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0 Resilient Kids Courses were designed by Highland Council Education Psychological Services in response to an increased demand from schools for individualised work for pupils to understand and manage their emotions, particularly at points of transition.<\/p>\n<p>SISS&#8217;s team of Inclusion Support Workers have trained in the resource and are currently delivering\u00a0courses for identified groups of pupils\u00a0across Stirling schools.\u00a0Running a Resilient Kids\u00a0\u00a0programme is often a offered in response to a SISS support Request.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is differentiated to three course packs<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resilient Kids to School (Nursery-P1)\u200b<\/li>\n<li>Resilient Kids Together (Primary 3)<\/li>\n<li>Resilient Kids Moving Up (Primary 7)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through age appropriate tasks and activities, each course aims to enhance resilience and\u00a0emotional literacy\u00a0\u200bthrough improvement of:\u200b<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0self awareness\u00a0\u200b<\/li>\n<li>awareness of feelings in self and others\u200b<\/li>\n<li>feelings vocabulary\u200b<\/li>\n<li>awareness of strategies for managing feelings\u200b<\/li>\n<li>friendship skills\u200b<\/li>\n<li>celebration of diversity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The sessions are very practical and involve children working in a circle and taking part in games, stories, role plays and relaxation activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0 Resilient Kids Courses were designed by Highland Council Education Psychological Services in response to an increased demand from schools for individualised work for pupils to understand and manage their emotions, particularly at points of transition.
