Amazing Measure

Measuring Mackerel
Measuring Mackerel

P3S has been applying increasing knowledge of standard measure to all sorts of practical challenges.

We used our skills with metre sticks and rulers to measure out the dimensions of a number of sea creatures which we had been researching in our “Amazing Atlantic” context.

It took the whole class to represent the length of a Blue Whale!

Home learning really enthused the class about exploring the dimensions of everyday objects.

We have also used kitchen and digital scales to estimate and record weights foodstuffs and class equipment.

Our thanks to our wonderful parent helpers, who have supported our practical learning so effectively.

Up up up and away in Primary 3!

Primary 3 had the privilege of meeting the inspirational hot air balloon pilot Kate Holzer and her crew as part of their Amazing Atlantic Journeys topic.  Learners were fascinated by the science behind hot air ballooning and asked very insightful questions.  They particularly enjoyed climbing into the basket and watching/smelling/listening to the huge propane burners. Many thanks to Kate and her crew for this wonderful experience.
