VIPs- Very Important People

Our context this term is VIPs- Very Important People. We have been busy learning all about each other, about our families, about important people in our school and people who help us in our community.

We have enjoyed visits from Mr Thomson, our janitor and Mrs Raynor, our school cook and we interviewed them to find out more about the important jobs they do.

We have also had an exciting visit from Policeman Pete and his police dog, Striker. We learned all about what he does, how police keep us safe and how Striker helps him.

To find out more about people who help us, we visited Dunblane Library where Angela read us stories and shared some non-fiction books with us all about vets, paramedics, fire brigade and even librarians.  We are now enjoying exploring these in class.

In our play, we are exploring people who help us through role play activities.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us with our learning this term!

Welcome to Primary 1!

P1 are settling in admirably to school life and should be proud of themselves.  The children have loved spending time with their fantastic P7 Buddies who have been helping out with lining up, in the cloakrooms, at break times and in the lunch hall.

We  have been enjoying exploring and playing in our new classrooms and the open area and making new friends. We have begun learning and writing our sounds in Read, Write Inc and now know m, a,d,s,t,i,p and n. We have enjoyed meeting the animals in the Number Zoo who have helped us with number recognition and formation. We have also enjoyed our time at P.E. and music.

We are looking forward to our year in P1!
