Visit from a dino-expert

A few weeks ago, Mrs Russell and P2M received a very unusual parcel- a large box containing a large egg. After some researching, we believe it might be a dinosaur egg and agreed to learn as much as we can about dinosaurs in case it hatches!

On Friday 1st March, we invited Dr Steve Nairn in to our class. He is a geologist and talked to us all about fossils, dinosaurs and the ancient earth. He brought some 60 million year old fossils with him and told us what they were. He told us about what exactly a dinosaur is and that birds are the nearest living thing to a dinosaur. Finally he showed us what earth looked like in the time of the dinosaurs. We were surprised that all of the continents were once stuck together. We learned lots from Dr Nairn’s expertise.
