All pupils applying to study at\u00a0 HNC, HND, Degree, Nursing Diploma, PGCE (or equivalent level) at College or University must apply to the Student Awards Agency Scotland every year.<\/p>\n

Tuition fees <\/span><\/h3>\n

Anyone studying full time in Scotland, who meet the eligibility conditions, will have tuition fees paid by SAAS each year.<\/p>\n

Tuition fees are not paid automatically<\/span><\/strong> when you accept a place on a course. You must apply to SAAS to have your fees paid straight to your college or university in each year of your course. \u00a0Tuition fees are not a loan – they do not have to be repaid.<\/p>\n

Living expenses <\/span><\/h3>\n

– you may need\u00a0support\u00a0to pay your accommodation, books, food, etc\u00a0when you are a student. \u00a0SAAS \u00a0offer bursaries \u00a0and student loans\u00a0(dependent on household income).<\/p>\n

Bursary:<\/span><\/h4>\n

Depending on the annual gross income (of your main residence) you you may be eligible to apply for a bursary – you will not have to repay this bursary. \u00a0Please see \u00a0funding_guide 2016_7<\/a><\/span>\u00a0for more information.<\/p>\n

Student Loan:<\/span><\/h4>\n

If you decide to apply for a student loan, you will have to repay it in the future. \u00a0 There is a loan available of up to \u00a34,750 a year, no matter what your household income is. You can choose how much loan you want to take. \u00a0 See website\/guide\/SAAS youtube videos \u00a0for more information on student loans.<\/p>\n

SAAS applications open mid April – You should apply as soon as you know the course you want to do. Do not wait for exam results. If you don\u2019t get on the course you want, you can easily change or cancel your application through SAAS online services.<\/p>\n

To make sure your funding is in place at the start of your course, you should send a correctly filled-in application by 30 June.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
