Term 3 2018 / 2019 By Corrie and Carys (Assisted by William).

Maths

In maths we have been learning how to handle money and have been adding and subtracting to find the total. We have been playing money bingo. We are learning how to count up to one hundred and we have learnt a little song that helps us if we get stuck.

Literacy:

In literacy we have been writing fairy tale stories and writing the beginning middle, end and everything in-between.

We have been reading a book called The Meerkat and it is a fantasy story.

The P2s are reciting The Space Man poem by JK Annand and the P1s are doing The Doctor by JK Annand.

Health and Wellbeing

We have been learning how to dribble a football in and out of cones. We have a race to see what team is the fastest to get up and down the row of cones.

Interdisciplinary

We have been making a Scotland flag using white and blue tissue paper.

We have been learning about what the Scotland flag means and why we use it.

We have been going on a stick hunt to find different sixes of sticks

We have also been learning about the island that Katy Morag lives on.

 

 

Term 2 2018 / 2019

Numeracy

P1: We have been learning to add on and count back one or two from a given number and we will be learning the set of addition facts for each number to 5.

P2:  We are learning to discuss the position and value of the digits in a number up to 100.

Literacy

During shared reading and guided reading sessions our focus is going to be on characters and predicting what the characters are going to do.

We are continuing to write fairy tale stories with Mrs Findlay and this term we will be focusing on the characters in our stories.

Health & Wellbeing

We have been learning about having respect for other people. We discussed the importance of treating people as we would like to be treated and accepting that people are all different and have different likes and dislikes.

On Tuesdays we have been taking part in football sessions with Daniel from Active Stirling. We have been learning how to dribble the ball.
