P3/4

Term 3 2018 – 2019 By Finlay, Savana and Nieve (Assisted by Douglas)

Maths

In maths we have been multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and we have been doing the 9 times table and 4 times tables. We have also been learning about tenths, halves and quarters. Some pupils have been adding and subtracting big numbers.

Health and Wellbeing

In health and wellbeing, we have been learning about #chooserespect and we are learning how to respect other people and yourself. We have completed the Tree of Respect and we have completed our icebergs and they show us the visible part that people can see and the part inside or under the water is the things that people might not see from the outside. We have been learning Think Dance and it is based on #chooserespect.

Literacy

In our class, we have been learning our Scots poems. P4s have been learning Doric Reggie Spider Rap and the P3s have been learning The Conductress. We have been reading Little Manfred for P4s and Cinderboy for P3s.

Interdisciplinary

In music we have been doing some scots songs such as Ally Bally Be and Donald wears your troosers and Scots way hay.

Our topic this term is all about Scotland’s Landscapes. So far, we have played a quiz to guess where all of the places were but they were all in Scotland! We made some Scotland and looked at different types of maps.

Term 2 2018/2019

This term Primary 4s will be learning about fractions and Primary 3s will be going on to develop their addition and subtraction skills. Primary 4s are also working very hard on their times tables and division facts.

We are very excited to be starting 2 new group novels! Primary 3s are reading Cock a Doodle Doo Mr Sultana by Michael Murpurgo and Primary 4s are reading Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. So far we have discovered that both of the authors are wonderful at writing wonderful character descriptions.

P3/4 are very lucky to have Active Stirling coming in to deliver lessons on rugby. We have been learning about passing and catching the ball. We are also taking part in the #chooserespect campaign and we will be signing the pledge to show our support.

Primary 3/4 have a very busy term ahead! We will be taking part in Children in Need, learning about materials and how they have an impact on our environment, making Christmas Crafts for the Christmas Fayre and rehearsing for our Christmas Show, Tinsel and Tea Towels. We hope you can join us on the 13th December for our amazing performance!

Inspiring children to learn and achieve their potential to become responsible citizens of the future
