Some points to consider.

We are now beginning to receive expressions of interest from many of our new S1 pupils.

Some points that you as parents or guardians may wish to consider before paying the deposit are:

Your child should be be happy and comfortable facing an over night coach journey, departing from Dunblane at 8 pm and arriving in Dover at 8 am the following morning.

Your child should feel confident that they will be able for complete a short ferry crossing from Dover to Calais.

Your child will be spending a great deal of time in their coach once in Belgium and France, they will also have to be comfortable in walking in the open countryside and spending a great deal of time standing during the day.

Your child will be expected to make their own bed and their own packed lunch daily, all dietary needs can be accommodated.

Your child will be told very little about the day’s activities, this is because the young recruits during WW1 were told very little by their officers, your son/daughter will need to be flexible in their approach to each day.

On the way home your child should once again be happy to face a long coach journey departing from Ypres at 8 am and returning to Dunblane at approximately 11 pm.

If you have any queries or concerns please contact either Mr McRobbie or Mrs Smith by email at dunblanehs@glow.sch.uk
