To be eligible, the parent or carer of the child must receive at least one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Income-based Job Seekers Allowance<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Income Support<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Income-related Employment and Support Allowance<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Incapacity or Severe Disablement Allowance<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">State Pension Credit<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Child Tax Credit but not Working Tax Credit\u00a0 \u2014 and your income is \u00a319,995 or less<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">maximum Child Tax Credit and maximum Working Tax Credit \u2014 and your income is \u00a39,552 a year or less<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Universal Credit \u2014 and have household take-home pay of \u00a3796 a month or less<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u2019s also available where the child:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">is looked after by the local council<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">is the subject of a Kinship or Guardianship Order<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">has a parent who was in care as a child<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">has a parent who is supported by the Family Nurse Partnership<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>What am I entitled to?<\/h3>\n<p>In Scotland, all children aged 3 or 4 years old and some 2 year-olds are eligible to receive a funded nursery place in either a\u00a0<a title=\"Playgroups, Nurseries &amp; Childminders\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stirling.gov.uk\/learning-education\/early-learning-childcare\/nurseries-childminders\/\" data-udi=\"umb:\/\/document\/cab380fcd6a3455fa24a10b86d853563\">Council nursery<\/a>, a private, voluntary or independent (PVI) nursery or a childminder who has a\u00a0<a title=\"Playgroups, Nurseries &amp; Childminders\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stirling.gov.uk\/learning-education\/early-learning-childcare\/nurseries-childminders\/\" data-udi=\"umb:\/\/document\/cab380fcd6a3455fa24a10b86d853563\">partnership<\/a> contract with us. Currently we are offering all children aged 3 or 4 years old and some 2-year-olds, 1140 hours per year.\u00a0 This is currently offered in all Stirling Council settings in five 5 hour block sessions across the week.<\/p>\n<p>Please note, it is not always possible to guarantee that this provision will be in your first choice of setting.<\/p>\n<h3>Can I get help with the cost of childcare?<\/h3>\n<p>Your employer may be able to help you with approved childcare costs using childcare vouchers or schemes. Further information is available on\u00a0<a title=\"Gov UK website\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/get-tax-free-childcare\">Gov.uk&#8217;s childcare page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>When does my child become entitled?<\/h3>\n<p>Children become eligible for places in the term after their third birthday.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Places for children under 3<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>There is no entitlement to nursery places for children under 3, other than for those 2-year-olds who meet the criteria set out in the <a title=\"Children and Young People Scotland Act\" href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/asp\/2014\/8\/contents\/enacted\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Children and Young People Scotland Act<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We provide 5 nursery places for children under 3 but these are popular therefore an <a title=\"Nursery Admissions and Charges Policy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stirling.gov.uk\/media\/g31oqz3x\/nursery-admissions-and-charging-policy.pdf\" data-udi=\"umb:\/\/media\/594b37cd8f17419f8efbaff039cd3cf0\">Admissions Policy<\/a>\u00a0is applied to ensure fairness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Free childcare places for 2-year-olds If you are you the parent\/career.
