Staffing Update

Congratulations to Mrs MacNish who was appointed as Principal Teacher at Kincardine in Menteith yesterday. In order to ensure continuity for P3/4 pupils we have managed to retain Mr Gonet on our staff and he will teach this class. Mr Gonet met his new class this afternoon.

Further congratulations to Miss Scott who was appointed as Principal Teacher at Braehead today, Miss Scott will continue to teach P1B as planned.

P5B will meet their new teacher on 22nd August.

I am sure you will join me in thanking these staff members for their contribution to supporting the pupils of Braehead Primary and wishing them every success in their future posts.

Medicines

We would ask that parents collect all medicines from the school office before the end of term. Thank you.

On behalf of all staff I would like to thank you for your continued

support and wish you all a lovely and sunny summer holiday.

Yours sincerely

Scottish Education Awards

We are extremely  proud of all the hard work our pupils, staff and parents have put into our 1+2 Languages programme. Your support, effort and encouragement has resulted in the School being shortlisted for a Scottish Education Award. To be considered for such an award is a great achievement and we will find out on the 7th of June if we have won.

Braehead Primary December Update

16th Dec    National Christmas Jumper Day

From the 16th December pupils can wear their Christmas Jumpers to school until the end of term.

If they prefer they can wear a Christmas Hat, hairband etc.

If you wish to make a small donation this will be sent to Yorkhill Hospital, which is the charity our senior pupils nominated for this session.

20th December    End of Term Service.

We will have our Christmas Service at 11am in North Parish Church.

Sadly we cannot invite parents or carers to join us at this service as the church is at full capacity with all of our pupils and staff.

Charity Fundraising.

Every year we select three charities to support. This is decided by staff and pupils.

This year we have supported Blythswood Care’s Christmas Box Appeal, Yorkhill Children’s Hospital, and we will take part in Red Nose Day.

Thank you for your generous support.

I am sure you will join the staff at Braehead in thanking the PTA for their hard work in fundraising this year. This has funded the trips for every class, contributed to the Panto which has allowed us to keep the cost to £4 per head, and purchased toys and paint as part of the playground improvement plans. A special big thank you to Mr Ferguson who spent a large part of the summer holidays painting the Trim Trails and Bike Racks. What a bright and colourful surprise to return to in August.

We really appreciate support.

On behalf of all staff, I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We look forward to welcoming all pupils back on 5th January 2017

Yours sincerely,

Mairi Breen
