{"id":2678,"date":"2020-04-03T14:17:43","date_gmt":"2020-04-03T14:17:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/st\/balfronhssupport\/?page_id=2678"},"modified":"2020-04-03T16:35:34","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T16:35:34","slug":"diagnosis-treatment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/st\/balfronhssupport\/diagnosis-treatment\/","title":{"rendered":"Diagnosis &amp; Treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cerebral palsy (commonly referred to as CP) affects normal movement in different parts of the body and has many degrees of severity.<\/p>\n<p>CP causes problems with posture, gait, muscle tone and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cerebralpalsyguide.com\/cerebral-palsy\/symptoms\/mobility\/\">coordination of movement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"did-you-know \">\n<p><i class=\"icon-info2\"><\/i>The word \u201ccerebral\u201d refers to the brain\u2019s cerebrum, which is the part of the brain that regulates motor function. \u201cPalsy\u201d describes the paralysis of voluntary movement in certain parts of the body.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Some children with CP also have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cerebralpalsyguide.com\/cerebral-palsy\/coexisting-conditions\/\">coexisting\u00a0conditions<\/a>, such as vision and hearing impairment.
