In S4 RMPS pupils will study the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

– the value of life: right to life, right to die, sanctity of life, personal autonomy<\/span><\/p>\n

– use of embryos: reproductive, research and therapeutic<\/span><\/p>\n

– end-of-life care: palliative care and hospices<\/span><\/p>\n

– euthanasia and assisted dying: voluntary euthanasia, non-voluntary euthanasia, assisted dying provided by individuals or organisations.<\/span><\/p>\n

While studying these topics pupils will learn how religious and non-religious groups respond to the issues and will be encouraged to develop their own opinions regarding medical ethics.<\/span><\/p>\n
