National 4 Biology

Aims
Learners will recognise the impact that biology has on society and the environment. Learners develop scientific inquiry and investigative skills, scientific analytical thinking skills and the ability to use scientific literacy in a range of contexts.

The Course is split into three units;

Life on Earth

Multicellular Organisms

Cell Biology

Assessment
There is written assessment for each of these three units and learners are asked to write a report on an experiment that they carry out in class.

There is no final examination and the course is internally assessed by the class teacher. The course is graded pass or fail.

Progression
This qualification can allow progression into National 5 Biology.

This Course can also assist entry to employment, training
and further education.
