The work completed during the S2 Music Technology rota covers using microphones to capture voice, creating jingles with loops and putting simple sounds into animations.<\/p>\n<p><b>S2 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(2 blocks of 9 lessons)<\/span><b>Block 1 \u2013 Radio Broadcast<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Given a script, learn about basic recording set up and skills and record script.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Using loops to create a jingle of 3 or 4 parts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Importing audio sound effects.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop skills in BandLab to sequence and record the above data correctly and effectively<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Learn to use volume automation and reverb.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Block 2 \u2013 Sound Design for Game<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Choose a recording of a game being played;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Complete in-depth planning on what will be needed;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use a preset sound effects site to select and export sound files;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop skills in Cubase to sequence the above data correctly;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finalise and evaluate their project;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Peer-assess others\u2019 work.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>BGE Music Technology:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Assessment Criteria<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">S2 Radio Broadcast Unit<\/span><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center\"><b>&#8211;<\/b><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center\"><b>Third Level<\/b><\/td>\n<td>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><b>+<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project demonstrates some knowledge of recording and using loops, consisting of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A jingle which uses a number of loops and samples.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A script which has been recorded with some success.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project demonstrates knowledge of recording and using loops, consisting of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A jingle which makes musical sense, using a number of loops and samples over multiple tracks.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A script which has been recorded correctly and captured clearly with no distortion.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project demonstrates a secure knowledge of recording, effective use of loops and FX, consisting of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A creative jingle which makes musical sense, using a number of loops\/samples, tracks and use of FX.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A script which has been recorded correctly and captured clearly with no distortion.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use of imported sounds\/music to enhance the script recording.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This course aims to build skills of capturing and manipulating audio in a variety of short contexts.
