School Update – Tuesday 10th May

 Dear Parents and Carers,

I am pleased to be able to report that the SQA exams continue to run smoothly. Staff have made themselves available to support S4-6 pupils with revision questions. They will be available tomorrow (Wednesday) too. Again please remind pupils that they must report to reception, sign in and will be escorted to the area that teachers are working from.

To support the learning of S1-3 pupils not able to attend school this week, activities/materials have been posted on our Show My Homework website. Pupils should look for their tasks under their teacher name and class.  Plans for relocating to Stirling schools are well under way. Our colleagues have been extremely helpful and supportive. From Friday, pupils from Campsie House will be going to Stirling High, Endrick High School will go to St Modan’s and Lomond House pupils will be working at Wallace High School.

On Friday, arrangements are in place for our young people to start the day with an induction. They will have a House Assembly, receive new timetables, maps of the school and be shown around. Every effort is being made to support pupils and staff at this time. In a similar way that we support P7 pupils at transition time, I am pleased that arrangements are being made by colleagues for pupils from receiving schools to help show our classes around and escort them from area to area. Building work continues outwith SQA examination hours. Colleagues are committed to minimising the time that we are off campus. With that in mind, planning is underway to bring temporary accommodation on site. I will share more details as plans are confirmed.

Once again, I would like to thank you for your support and patience.

Yours faithfully, Elaine Bannatyne
