Early Years

The Additional Support Needs (ASN) Outreach Service consists of  experienced staff who support children and young people with additional support needs.
Early Years Support for Learning
The Early Years Support for Learning teacher works with pre school children from 0 – 5years who have a wide range of additional support needs in partnership nurseries. An ASN Co-ordinator manages the work of the team and may be contacted for further
information or any Early Years discussion.
Who Does the Early Years Support for Learning Teacher work with?
If there is concern around your child’s learning then the decision to request support from the Support for Learning teacher would be made at a Staged Intervention meeting. If the request is agreed, the Early Years teacher will join the existing team around the child in planning appropriate support.

• The child
• Parents/carers
• Partnership and Stand Alone Nurseries
It may also include:
• Speech & Language Therapists
• Educational Psychologists
• Occupational Therapists
• Physiotherapists
• Other outside agencies (E.g. Social work)
