Staffing Update

Mrs. Martin has decided to move on from her post at Woodhead to take up a full-time university course.  Her last day will be Friday 23rd December 2022.  We are sad to see her go and thank her for all of her hard work and commitment to our learners over the years she has been at Woodhead.  She will be missed by staff and children alike and we wish her all the best for the future.

From January 2023, Mrs. Lisa Hannah will cover the vacancy on a supply basis, covering the Non-Class Contact timetable for P1-P6 (except P4).  It is hoped the permanent post will be advertised in the new year.

Riddle of the Week

Well done to everyone who told me the correct answer to last week’s Riddle:

It’s raining at midnight, but the forecast for tomorrow and the next day is clear. Will there be sunny weather in 48 hours?

The correct answer was ‘No, in 48 hours it will be midnight so there will be no sun!’

This week’s riddle is:

“You’ll find me in Mercury, Earth, Mars and Jupiter, but not in Venus or Neptune. What am I?”

A house point to every pupil who shares the correct answer with Mr. Clark.

Can your child solve it without parental help or googling it?

Thank you for your continued support. Please get in touch via the school office if I can assist in any way.

Kind regards

Mr. Clark

Riddle of the Week

Well done to everyone who told me the correct answer to last week’s Riddle:

A new clothing store has a unique method of pricing items. A vest costs £20, a tie costs £15, a blouse costs £30, and a scarf costs £25. How much would a pinafore cost?

The correct answer was ‘£40 – the pricing method is £5 per letter of the item’s name’.

This week’s riddle is:

It’s raining at midnight, but the forecast for tomorrow and the next day is clear. Will there be sunny weather in 48 hours?

A house point to every pupil who shares the correct answer with Mr. Clark.

Can your child solve it without parental help or googling it?
