If your child is already three and needs a nursery place you should apply as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All 3 and 4 year old children<\/li>\n<li>Children approved for a\u00a0<a title=\"Deferred entry to primary school\" href=\"https:\/\/www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk\/info\/200186\/primary_school_information\/554\/deferred_entry_to_primary_school\">deferred entry<\/a>\u00a0to primary school<\/li>\n<li>2 year olds who are, or have been since they turned 2, cared for by the local authority (LAAC)<\/li>\n<li>2 year olds who are, or have been since they turned 2, cared for under a kinship care order<\/li>\n<li>2 year olds from \u2018families seeking work\u2019 households<\/li>\n<li>2 year olds from low income households in receipt of certain Child Tax and Working Tax Credits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During allocation, we will\u00a0follow\u00a0the council&#8217;s\u00a0<a title=\"Early Learning and Childcare Policy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk\/info\/200184\/early_learning_and_childcare\/1934\/early_years_admissions_policy_dec_2019\">Early Learning and Childcare Admissions Policy<\/a>\u00a0and we will try to allocate siblings to the same establishment where possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3-5 year olds &#8211; entitlement for a free Early Learning and Childcare placement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your child\u2019s 3rd\u00a0birthday falls between:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 March and the start of term in August &#8211; They would start their funded nursery place from the start of term in August<\/li>\n<li>Start of the term in August and last day of February\u00a0&#8211; Monday after your child\u2019s 3rd\u00a0birthday*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*If your child\u2019s birthday falls on a Monday, the start date will be the following Monday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligible 2 year olds &#8211; entitlement for a\u00a0free Early Learning and Childcare placement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your child\u2019s 2<span class=\"superscript_text\">nd<\/span>\u00a0birthday falls between:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 March and the start of term in August &#8211; They would start their funded nursery place from the start of term in August<\/li>\n<li>Start of the term in August and last day of February &#8211; Monday after your child\u2019s 2nd birthday*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*If your child\u2019s birthday falls on a Monday, the start date will be the following Monday.<\/p>\n<p>If your child is 2 years old and meets the eligibility criteria,\u00a0you should apply before their 2nd birthday or as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>You can apply for a funded place in any of the Council&#8217;s primary school nursery classes and nursery centres and with\u00a0any funded providers\u00a0and childminders who are in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council to provide funded placements. The Council and funded partners deliver a wide of placement options. However please note that nurseries do not have a designated catchment area.<\/p>\n<h3>Apply for a nursery place online<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Please note if\u00a0you have already applied either on a paper form or online there is no need to do so again.<\/strong>\u00a0 Please note the following before you begin:<\/p>\n<p>Please read the\u00a0<a title=\"placement options\" href=\"https:\/\/www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk\/info\/200184\/early_learning_and_childcare\/1945\/applying_for_1140_hours_of_free_early_learning_and_childcare\/2\">placement options<\/a>\u00a0page for more information on hours and opening times available for council-run nurseries.\u00a0 When making your application, you will be asked to choose your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice nursery.<\/p>\n<p>The online registration form will ask you to provide a copy of each child&#8217;s full birth certificate\u00a0and two pieces of recent official documentation both containing\u00a0your permanent home address, for example, a utility bill, council tax statement, housing rent card, child benefit documentation. Proof of where the child lives may also be needed. Please note that separate registration is required for each child (e.g. twins require a registration each).\u00a0 Documents should be no more than 5GB each and preferably in .jpg or .pdf format. If you do not have the documents to upload, you must contact your first choice nursery.<\/p>\n<p>The closing date for applications is the\u00a0<strong>last day in February<\/strong>\u00a0each year. If you miss the closing date, your application will be held for the \u2018late application\u2019 process which starts in June each year.
