Welcome to Wester Overton Primary School and Nursery<\/b><\/h1>\n

We are a non denominational school, committed to meeting the needs of every pupil and working in partnership with our families to achieve this. We currently have approximately 360 children in the main school and 64 children in our nursery.<\/p>\n

Our school is situated on the outskirts of the market town of Strathaven and we are proud to be part of the wider Strathaven Learning Community which includes Strathaven Academy, Chapelton Primary, Gilmourton Primary, Glassford Primary, Kirklandpark Primary and Sandford Primary. Our Common Values for all in the Learning Community are ‘Respectful, Resilient and Responsible’<\/p>\n

We are proud of our school and work in close partnership with our parents and carers to provide a high standard of inclusive education.\u00a0 Our school fosters an ethos that is open, friendly and caring, with a focus on promoting strong, trusting relationships.<\/p>\n

\nOur current two storey school building was opened in February 2009 by Councillor Michael McCann. The previous school building was housed at the same location for many years, first opening its doors on 17th August 1973.<\/p>\n

I hope that our website provides a snapshot of our culture and ethos\u00a0 \u2013 a positive and purposeful community committed to meeting the needs of every pupil and to providing education of the highest standard.<\/p>\n

At Wester Overton Primary, we aim to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment for all our children, enabling them to make the most of their skills and abilities.<\/p>\n
