We have achieved our Silver Award: Rights Aware.<\/strong><\/h1>\n

This is the 2nd stage of the Rights Respecting Schools <\/b>Award. The<\/b><\/span><\/span> RRS Group will work with Miss Lamont to lead the school in achieving our Gold Award.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/h1>\n

What is the Rights Respecting Schools Award?<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Unicef UK Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) supports schools across the UK to embed\u00a0children\u2019s human rights<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in their ethos and culture.<\/p>\n

The award recognises achievement in putting the\u00a0UN Convention on the Right of the Child (UNCRC)<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0at the heart of a school\u2019s practice to improve well-being and help all children realise their potential.<\/p>\n

The award is based on principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation.<\/p>\n

The initiative started in 2006 and schools involved in the Award have reported a positive impact on relationships and well-being, leading to better learning and behaviour, improved academic standards and less bullying.<\/p>\n

What Does the Award Involve?<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Right Respecting Schools Award recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of a school\u2019s planning, policies, practice and ethos.<\/p>\n

For a school to receive accreditation, it must evidence that it has reached the\u00a0three RRSA Strands<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
