Chaplaincy

Spiritual, social and cultural values allow children to develop their own beliefs and learn about those of others.  It allows the individual to develop an understanding of the diversity in our society and their own roles in it.  Pupils will reflect and use critical thinking to enhance their understanding of beliefs.

Our school chaplain, Mr Christopher Rankine, visits the school each term and has input in some of our school assemblies.  He also supports classes with a variety of RME topics.  We make use of our local church for our Christmas Service, Easter Services and at the end of session service in June, weather permitting.

Parents may request that their children be permitted to be absent in order to celebrate recognised religious events.  Advance notice should be provided to the school when children will be absent.  Appropriate requests will be granted and the pupil noted as an authorised absentee in the register.
