Mission Statement<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

The Parent Council represents the parents’ voice of St Mary\u2019s primary school and nursery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our purpose is to create an environment where all parents know that their views matter, and where they feel confident and comfortable that their voice is heard. We work on behalf of all parents to discuss educational matters that are of importance to all, with the goal of providing each child with the best education possible.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Goals<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

\u00b7 Work in partnership with the school to decide on the key priorities to take forward;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Provide a voice for parents in schools and in their local authority on issues that are important to them;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Improve the school\u2019s understanding of how to engage parents in their children\u2019s learning and in the life of the school;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Support the school to develop strong home\/school partnerships;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Communicate regularly with the Parent Forum to both hear their views and keep them informed;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Support improvement by discussing the school\u2019s strengths and areas for development from a parental perspective;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Help make links with the wider community;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Capture the unique and varied skills, interests, knowledge and experience that parents can offer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Bring together the children and families of St Mary\u2019s through social fundraising events.<\/strong><\/p>\n
