Hockey Tournament

Hello everyone,

Last week we went to a hockey tournament at Hamilton College. On the 26th of March 2015 St John the Baptist’s Primary 6 competed at an end of term Hockey Tournament. We played against many schools from South and North Lanarkshire. Sadly we have no further information if we won the tournament or not. 🙁 If we find that we won the tournament we will make another blog about it, but this time very detailed.

Hockey Festival

Last Thursday me and my class went to a hockey festival in Hamilton College. We played many schools and saw lots of our friends from other schools. We really enjoyed our selves but some of us got injured… ( not seriously though) We don’t know if we won . ( We scored quite a lot of goals though.) We had to get an early lunch then we got a bus to Hamilton College. When we got there it was quite sunny but very windy.

We really enjoyed it .Thanks for reading 🙂

Hockey Tournament / Chess Tournament

31/03/15  Last week our class went to a hockey tournament and four of the boys in our class went to a chess tournament. The weird thing was that both tournaments were at the same place and it was at Hamilton College. The hockey tournament was very fun. We got split into four teams and my team was very good . We had a lot of good players in my team . We played 5 games but out of the 5 games we didn’t win a game sadly. We drew 4 games and lost 1. But during the games I had people asking my name. The boys who went to the chess tournament had a good time because one of the teams qualified. That was my team. I won two matches, somebody won two and a half matches and so on. We play four matches each at every tournament.

Hockey Tournament / Festival

On the 26 March we went to a hockey tournament in Hamilton College and my sister Arianna was doing a gymnastics compition there and did very well. The hockey tournament was bad for our group for SJB because we did not win any matches at all . We drew twice and lost the rest. One of our teammates called Declan went on the other team for the 1st game. There were 5 games for my group. My teammates were Chase , Ellie , Melanie , Alex , Stephen , Ava , Declan and myself.  It was a tough day.

Hockey Tournment!

On Thursday p6  went to Hamilton College for a hockey tournament. We were split in to groups of four. Amy`s team won 1 game and drew 2. Katie’s team won 3 games. The reason we were at the tournament was because since Christmas we have been getting hockey lessons every Tuesday but sadly we aren’t getting our lessons anymore as we have had them for a while and other classes are getting the chance now. We have a hockey coach called John who was there as well.  We played against lots of different schools that we had  never met before. This was a very good way to make friends and play against different people. The pitch was very big and we got lots of exercise which we enjoyed . We really enjoyed the tournament and hope we could get a chance to do it again sometime.

P.E. Ball Skills

Hello, this year in P.E. we are looking at a new topic. It is called ball skills. When we get in the P.E. hall we all race to the cupboard to get the best ball and who ever is last they get the flat ball.  We have been  practising using our heads, chest, knees, and feet to do keepy-uppyes  to try and improve our skills. After gym we go back to class and get changed back in to school uniform once we are ready. We sit on the carpet and give out the medals. There is a gold medal, silver and bronze.

Mr Kettlewells leaving party :(

On the 12th of March 2015 our class ( room 12 ) had a leaving party for Mr Kettlewell.

It was a great party, however Mr Kettlewell ate all of the crisps. We had biscuits , cakes and sweets. All of us ate loads of food. Then Mr Kettlewell put on his music and we had to guess what language it was in!

At the end Mr Kettlewell put on Run on and every one started singing.

Thanks for reading our blog.

We will miss you Mr Kettlewell!

Fair Trade Cotton

Hello everyone,  my class are talking about Fair Trade and we have decided to make a blog about it.

  •  300 million people work to make cotton.
  • The leading producers are India, China and the US .
  • people employ children under the age of 12 in some counties.
  • cotton is the world’s oldest crop .
  • In some  counties cotton can be used as payment.
  •  Fair Trade cotton is made by farmers who get a decent and fair price.

Thank You for reading my blog. If there is anything we left out please write it in a comment.
