In our class we are doing a unit study called saving Finnegan. It is set on the islands of coll. It is all about a girl named Holly who went down to the beach one morning and saw a rock which in  actual fact was a whale. She wants to save the whales life with the help of the postman. I am really enjoying  this book so far as we are on chapter three and have loads more to find out. My class are doing a Unit Study called Saving Finnegan. One morning Holly wakes early to find an amazing thing happened overnight – a whale has been stranded on the beach below her house.

Soon she is at the forefront of efforts to save the whale. I’m really enjoying the Unit Study because it is all about what you would do in real life if a beached whale appeared stranded in front of you! This term we are doing a unit study and its called Saving Finnegan. Its about a whale getting stranded on  a beach  and a little girl tries to save it from dying  . It has twenty chapters in total although we are only on the fourth chapter . I really like it and find it very interesting .I look forward to be reading more   The writer is  Sally Grindley and the illustrations  are by David Dean.

Room 12 have been reading Saving Finnegan for our unit study. One morning a little girl called Holly wakes up to find a gigantic whale stranded on the beach. Holly runs down  to help the whale and she meets the postman, she tells him about what she has found. Holly’s dad finds her and runs down to get her. She informs her dad about the whale and he phones the firemen to get the hose and the vet to make sure the whale is okay. Her dad told the postman to tell everyone in the street to bring a bucket of water for the whale. I have really enjoyed reading this book and I cant wait to finish it !!
