Fair Trade – Gold

Over the next two weeks our school are going to be learning about Fair Trade because it is Fair Trade Fortnight.

One of the main problems is gold mining which is the topic I am going to be focusing on.

Gold is one of the main problems because of the poison in the mines. They only do it because the need to, to survive and there also is a big demand for it.

Dynamic Earth

Hello everyone,

Two weeks ago our class went to Dynamic Earth. I thoroughly enjoyed it as I got to learn how the world works. It was really interesting. We participated in two work shops. In one we did lots of things but my favourite was when we got two bottles one on top of each other with water inside them. We spun them round in circles which created a hurricane. For me it was quite fascinating and I was intrigued. At the end of the day all of the class including Mrs Lobodowska and Mr Kettlewell got their picture taken. Then Mr Kettlewell glued the picture to a card and gave one to each of us. I had a really great time and I am thankful because Mr Kettlewell and Mrs Lobodowska went through a lot of trouble to get us that trip.

Thank you for reading my blog!

Poem about fairtrade

I am going to tell you a poem about fairtrade.

Before Fairtrade the farmers were unhappy

Fairtrade came to help which made them happy

They don’ t  have enough money to buy food and water

You never know  they may have a wife, son or daughter.

Thank you for reading it.

P.E. Ball Skills

Hello, this year in P.E. we are looking at a new topic. It is called ball skills. When we get in the P.E. hall we all race to the cupboard to get the best ball and who ever is last they get the flat ball.  We have been  practising using our heads, chest, knees, and feet to do keepy-uppyes  to try and improve our skills. After gym we go back to class and get changed back in to school uniform once we are ready. We sit on the carpet and give out the medals. There is a gold medal, silver and bronze.

I hope you liked reading this post.  By Kai McGoldrick 🙂

Dynamic Earth/Mr Kettlewell

When our class went to Dynamic Earth I didn’t expect it to be AWESOME. I thought that it was going to be big in the first place. I kind of knew that there would be a shop there.  Mr Kettlewell gave us a picture, an Easter egg each and a bouncy ball each.  I’m sure all of the class was very greatful. After the trip he ended up leaving the week after.

Thank you for reading my blog about Dynamic Earth/Mr Kettlewell

Fair Trade Cotton!

Buy Fair Trade!

In my blog I am going to tell you a bit about fair trade and I am also going to tell you where you can buy fair trade products.

Where you can buy fair trade products.

  • M&S
  •  Tesco
  • Morrison’s
  • Sainsbury’s

A bit about fair trade cotton.

Cotton is one of the world most oldest commercial crop.  300 million people  are much happier now because of fair trade. Fair trade people have bought their product and these farmers got a fair price. The price of cotton has gone down in the last 30 years so farmers are struggling to survive in these countries- India, Kyrgyzstan and West Africa.

Dynamic Earth

A week ago we went to Dynamic Earth.

Dynamic Earth is so awesome because it has interesting facts, fun activities, an iceberg, a video and foam coming down from the ceiling. There are so many rooms and for the first time I enjoyed going on a school trip with a long ride on the bus. The best part was the iceberg. People were touching it, people were licking it. I bought top trumps to play on the bus and a soft toy for bed.

Thanks for reading my blog.
