For the next few weeks in our school it is Fair Trade week. We have been starting to learn about cotton. A lot of years ago all over the world children were forced to work in factories for hours. That is one of the reasons why Fair Trade started. Fair Trade means to pay the farmers a fair price for the product they have made. Lots of companies buy cotton from the farmers but don’t pay a fair price. The farmers spent hours making cotton and they only get paid about £1 or 50p. I really want to make a difference to the poor farmers not getting paid enough money and try and get companies to be a part of Fair Trade.
Thanks for Reading !
