Congratulations to all of the children in Primary 4 who made their First Holy Communion at Our Lady and St. Anne’s Church on Saturday.

Well Done To All Our Footballers

Well done to all of the boys and girls who represented the school at the Davy Cooper Football Tournament today at the Palace Grounds.

Both teams did very well and were a real credit to the school, with the girls reaching the semi final of the tournament.

The sun shone as the children from P4, who are receiving the Eucharist for the first time on Saturday, set out for the Holy Family Centre in Mossend.There we embarked upon a day of prayer, preparation and play with the help of   Nicky, Stephanie  and Linda.

In the Centre we learned about the importance of the Eucharist in the Mass,St Clare whose story featured a Monstrance and through meditation we imagined  ourselves in the biblical story about The Loaves and The Fishes.

During our visit to Holy Family Church next door, we revisited all the important features of a Catholic Church and then concluded the day with a very peaceful Prayer Service in the Centre`s Oratory.

With only a few days to go before the children receive their First  Holy Communion ,this Retreat could not have been more apt. Thank you to everyone who helped us on this special day and please keep us all in your prayers.

Keep Scotland Beautiful has asked all local communities to “Clean For The Queen” in this her 90th year .For all who sign up ,Greggs Stores  have pledged tasty treats as a reward. Well you don`t have to ask St Elizabeth`s Primary twice to do anything  especially when food is involved !! Wearing crowns and purple gloves we set about the task over the past few weeks.Thanks to all our “Royal Pickers ” and to Sandra at our local Greggs Store ,Cadzow Bridge,  for                             supplying the very welcome cakes.
