Why not take part in the Big RSPB Bird Watch this month ? Go on-line into the RSPB Site and record the garden birds you spot .Last year the sparrow did really well.
Once again thank you to all who came along today ,big and small, and see you all again on February 20th for a Fairtrade Club.

P5/6 Clyde In The Classroom Visit 19/1/17
Today P5/6 visited the Glasgow Science Centre to learn more about the River Clyde, its tributaries and fish. Salmon are being gradually introduced into the River Avon and schools along this River have been asked to look after and hatch brown trout eggs, before releasing them into the wild. (Brown trout eggs behave just like salmon eggs and much easier to care for) St Elizabeth`s was chosen and tomorrow a Scientist will visit the school with all the equipment needed to care for their new class visitors. Over the next six weeks P5/6 will make sure the hatchery is cold, healthy and oxygenated whilst recording data to monitor how the eggs are developing. Look out for all Progress Reports.
Wild About Scotland Visit
Today a specially designed double decker bus from Edinburgh Zoo came to St Elizabeth`s with skulls, skins and stuffed animals for the children to learn more about Scottish Wildlife. Scotland is trying to reintroduce the beaver back into our environment so look out for any lodges and dams !! Beaver skins used to be used for clothing ,perfume and oils. No wonder they became extinct in Scotland.
