Rigside Primary School

Due to adverse weather conditions, Rigside Primary School will have a delayed start this morning. We will review this decision at 10am. Please do not send your child(ren) to school at 9am. 

We will not be issuing hard copies of this year’s Christmas Lunch menu. If you wish your child to have a Christmas lunch, please discuss the menu with them as school staff will ask for their order next week. Alternatively, contact the school office.

Due to the ongoing changes caused by COVID-19 we have had to make some changes to our Halloween celebrations this year.

Due to the risk of spreading the virus, we kindly ask that children do not come to school dressed up or bring any props etc. into school. Instead on Friday 30th October, children will celebrate Halloween in their classes with a themed day full of different activities organised by their class teacher.

Thank you for your ongoing support during these uncertain times.

Our school lunch winter menu will begin on Monday 26 October and run until the Easter holidays.

Rigside Primary School will be closed on Friday 25th September and Monday 28th September for the September weekend.

The school will also be closed to pupils on Tuesday 29th September as it is an in-service day.

School re-opens to pupils on Wednesday 30th September.

Following some fantastic speeches and digital voting, our house captains and vice-captains for the 2020/2021 sessions have now been selected. Our captains and vice-captains are:

Well done to all our pupils who applied for the roles and prepared and delivered speeches to the school. We are so proud of you all!

We can now confirm that Tuesday 29 September 2020 will be the 2nd in-service day for 2020/21 academic year.

The school will be closed on this day to pupils and will reopen on Wednesday 30 September.

Rigside PS is changing their homework policy in relation to COVID-19 and will be going digital from October. 

Please see the attached flyer detailing this new policy.

If you feel that your child will require/benefit from a digital device to complete their homework from October, please contact gw14rigsidepsictc@glow.sch.uk, giving your child’s name and if you will also require a WIFI connectivity device.

 

Homework Policy

Mrs Mechan has issued a letter with protocol for dealing with pupils displaying Covid-19 symptoms. Please make yourself familiar with these.

Alternatively, a paper copy will be sent home this evening- please check your child’s bag.

 

School Lunch Menu for this week. Children will order these in class each morning as normal.

Children can still bring a packed lunch if they wish, however, we are encouraging pupils to not have home lunches at this time. You can find more information on lunches in our recovery plan.
