Pupil Learning Blog P5 2026\u00a0Term 3<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Literacy \u2013 Reading\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

P5 have wrapped up their work on Fantastic Mr Fox and have been getting stuck into their new novel – The Borrowers.<\/p>\n

Arwyn: I loved learning about animals because it was more interesting than human characters.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Elliot: I loved that in the book there were\u00a0different stages\u00a0to the\u00a0plot\u00a0and it was\u00a0very creative\u00a0because it had lots of twists and turns.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shea: I liked doing news articles and wanted posters because it was\u00a0really\u00a0interesting.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Caled: I liked we picked a side for which characters we\u00a0supported,\u00a0it was like debating.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lily: I really liked doing the hot seating because it was really entertaining to watch people act as the characters and try to answer questions in character.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Florence: The Borrowers is\u00a0really interesting\u00a0to read but it does have some tricky words, but I am enjoying it overall.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Harley:\u00a0I like doing the metalinguistics tasks because it was interesting to see what the words mean.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sophie: I like the type of language they use. It can be difficult at\u00a0times\u00a0but it is\u00a0really unusual\u00a0the way they\u00a0speak\u00a0and I liked the detail in the characters.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Literacy – Writing \u2013 Exposition<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jessie:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I really liked making posters with our writing because it made it more interesting.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Morris<\/span><\/b>: I liked doing exposition writing about a famous figure because we got to pick whoever we wanted that inspired us. We had to do our own research and find out our own information about them on the Chromebooks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Daniel<\/span><\/b>: I liked doing food miles because it was\u00a0really interesting\u00a0and the activities that we did were\u00a0really fun\u00a0and gave us lots of inspiration.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Arwyn<\/span><\/b>: I like using the Chromebook to do writing because it makes it easier to get your ideas down.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shea:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I liked doing posters in our groups because you can do more\u00a0team work\u00a0and get to know other people and their ideas.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Numeracy –\u00a0<\/span><\/b>place value, fractions, decimals, percentages, addition, subtraction, dividing, multiplication, money, shape, time, angles<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Halle<\/span><\/b>: I like doing multiplication because it gets stuck in your head and you can remember the answers quickly.\u00a0I think the martial arts\u00a0multiply test helps me to remember them.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Elliot<\/span><\/b>: I really liked the songs for timetables because its very catchy and\u00a0\u00a0its a fun way to learn – because its a rap, it makes people happy. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaitlyn:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I liked doing fractions because we had the pizza slices which was fun and we could work with one another and it was easy when you got the hang of it. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hannah:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I liked doing percentages because it was\u00a0really fun\u00a0and I was good at it and its also\u00a0really useful\u00a0for future jobs when you grow up.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lucy:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I liked doing addition because it got your brain going in a different way and it was quite a fun challenge to do, for example, the mental maths stuff on the big board was my favourite. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Florence:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I liked doing the rounding because it was kind of tricky but then I got the hang of it and it was really fun, stand up sit down helped me the most. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leah<\/span><\/b>: I liked doing shape because we had real shapes you could\u00a0actually touch. I figured out that there are loads of angles within shapes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Topic\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Architecture<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaitlyn:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I liked when we went on the trip learning about Mackintosh and we actually saw some of his works in real life. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Arwyn<\/span><\/b>: I liked doing the assembly because it was really funny and exciting to do. I loved preparing it and the outfits. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Layla<\/span><\/b>: I liked learning about Mackintosh and making the paper-stained glass flowers .\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Walter:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>I liked researching about each of the architects and finding our own information.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hannah<\/span><\/b>: I liked doing the assembly because I really liked acting it out and rehearsing it before we performed it.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sophie<\/span><\/b>: I enjoyed learning about his unique art\u00a0style\u00a0and\u00a0I\u00a0think\u00a0it’s\u00a0really inspirational.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
