St Andrew’s and St Bride’s High Schools officially opens The Claremont Room – a brand new nurture room for children to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday school life.

On Tuesday the 27th of August, a nurture space – called The Claremont Room – was opened by Martin Fellowes, representative of Claremont Office Furniture. Claremont Office Furniture kindly donated much of the furniture situated in the room and it would not look like this if it wasn’t for their donation.

The room provides a home environment within the school building for pupils that really struggle to go about their way in school. It is an excellent initiative by the teachers of St Andrew’s and St Bride’s and I believe that pupils will really fit into the environment and feel comfortable coming to the space.

Mr Fellowes spoke to one of the reporters stating that:

It’s a great idea and I cannot take the credit for it since its the hard work and months of planning of the SMT, Pupils and Guidance Teachers. Kids will now get the use out of it and it will be a space for everyone to enjoy for years to come.

Mrs Mullen also said:

The new room is going to be a fantastic resource within the school; helping some of our most vulnerable students to cope and navigate between the day-to-day working of school and education. We’re so excited to have our Claremont Room!
