Following a tough application and interview process,  our school’s all-important Pupil Leadership Team for 2018/19 has been appointed.

Beginning with a voting process, our selected senior pupils submitted application forms to be considered for our school’s Leadership Team, indicating their skills and qualities that show they are an asset to our school. Following this, a smaller group were selected to be interviewed – without a doubt, the quality of these applications as well as the interviews from our S6 pupils were extremely high and made the final decision a very difficult one to make!

What does our Leadership Team do?

Made up of a Head Boy, Head Girl and six Deputies, St Andrew’s and St Bride’s Leadership Team is there to help all pupils in our school, as well as to help our teachers in the school’s day to day running – whether that be taking charge of different events throughout the year or helping organise parents’ evenings! In the past few years, our school’s Leadership Teams have played an extremely prominent role in school life – there is no doubt this year will have even further impact!

Who makes up our Leadership Team this year?

After having demonstrated his outstanding confidence and abilities to our teachers, St Andrew’s and St Bride’s Head Boy for this year is Senior Dux Luke Laverty. Our new Head Girl for this session is Proxime Accessit (and The Oystercatcher’s very own) Katie Hunter, another high achieving student who is passionate to be closely involved with the running of the school.

Our six deputy heads this year are Niamh Dickson, Luis Goncalves, Jessica Hagan, Saskia Harris, Andrew Lochrin and Rachael Smith – each of these pupils have demonstrated their exceptional hardworking and motivated attitudes, and are thrilled to be a part of the team; they are ready to get to work!

With a team like this in place this year, it is definitely safe to say that St Andrew’s and St Bride’s is in very good hands!
