Thursday March 1st is a celebration just for the bookworms of the world- World Book Day!

It’s a day to sit back and enjoy a nice, relaxing book.  Or it’s a day to re-read your favourite books and celebrate.

Looking for a book to read for World Book Day?  Look no further as below are 2 quick reads I recommend.

1. ‘Never Bite A Boy On The First Date’ by Tamara Summers

This is a slightly clichéd, mystery book about a young girl who was turned into a vampire when a clan found her dying in the street.  They must move around a lot as staying in one place too long  will raise suspicion as to why they don’t age.  As Kira is quite new, mistakes are expected.  Mistakes that lead to turning your obsessive boyfriend into a vampire however puts you on probation.  At their new school, a popular football player was found dead outside on the steps with half his neck torn out.  To vampires it’s obvious what happened but to humans it’s a mystery.  Kira is automatically blamed and must find out who did it.  She studies her 3 suspects very closely but Is running out of time. Will she be able to close the case?

2. ‘The Edge Of Everything’  by Jeff Giles

This is the start of a series but is perfectly fine on its own.  Zoe lives on the top of a hill with her mum, brother and 2 dogs. It starts during a snowstorm.  Her brother Jonah chases the dogs through the forest.  Zoe can’t find him.  Their mum is stranded at the bottom of the hill.  When she finds Jonah, he’s freezing. The dogs buried him half way through the snow and sat on him to keep him warm.  They walk to the closest house there was, their old neighbours who were murdered.  As they get there, a large van pulls up.  They were in danger.  The man attacked.  He grabbed a dog who was trying to protect the children.   Zoe made sure Jonah was safe inside but the man tried to drown the dog in the frozen lake nearby.  Then there was a light.  A light that was so bright Zoe had to shield her eyes.  That’s how it started.  Her World was opened to X’s world.  X’s world was opened up to Zoe’s world.  They were never meant to meet but once they did there was no going back.  Where X is from, there is strict rules.  He only gets to come out when he’s needed and that’s not very often.  X is different. X is special and now Zoe is too.   With limited communication, underlying feelings, and a strong fight brewing on the horizon, where will they end up?  How far will they take it to be together again?  And even if they do fight, will it be enough?
