“Another scrumptious success!”

The second St Andrew’s and St Bride’s  Bake Off which took place on the 24th of November was an amazing competition. This time  with teachers taking part from accross all departments.

Spiced ginger cake, cake pops and, of course, the all time favourite, chocolate cake were  only some of the entries out of the many.

Organised by Mrs McLean and a Micro-Tyco team, I can certainly say it was a delightful experience. All the money raised will be donated to the WildHearts Foundation through Micro Tyco.

Find out here how Micro Tyco is engaging children in entrepreneurship and thus allowing businesses to be set up in developing countries.

The cakes were judged by our very own Mary Berry of the school,  Mrs Bruce, and two sixth year pupils Matthew Deighan and Alice Glass who know a great deal when it comes to cakes. I can certainly say that I envied their positions!

After a very tough decision the winners were announced by Mrs Bruce and they are as follows:

First       : Mrs Murphy 🥇

Second : Mr Hamilton 🥈

Third     : Mrs Anderson🥉

Here are their wonderful bakes:

Well done to the teachers who won!

Of course, the other yummy cakes weren’t put to waste. Members of staff got to tuck into all the delicious cakes ,for a small donation of 50p to Micro Tyco, and enjoy some tea or coffee during the extended interval.

An event enjoyed by all those who attended the Bake Off and we can surely expect one next year! Possibly even a Staff and Pupil Bake Off in 2018?

Well here’s a heads up bakers: the competition is very tough so you better perfect your piping skills.

On your marks, Get set, BAKE!
