On Wednesday 4th of October around 30 pupils went to Falkirk Stadium to run at the Scottish School Road Race.  Being the first race of the new term, as well as the S1’s first race at St Andrews and St Brides,  everyone was feeling quite nervous. There was around 500 schools there, with at least 1000 people competing.  Unfortunately,  it was a cold and wet day but everyone enjoyed themselves, which is the main point.

The S1’s  started everyone off with a distance of  2.4k, Erin Bryne said that it was “enjoyable but very hard, as there was many hills!” S2’s followed also running 2.4k, the S3/4’s ran 3.2k. Lastly the S5/6’s  ran 4k.

Overall S1 girls came 6th, S1 boys 9th, S2 boys 10th and S3 boys 12th. There wasn’t enough people for S3 girls or S2 girls to make a team, as you need 4 people.

Lastly everyone who took part done fantastic and was a credit to the school!
