Have you ever read a review? Did it impact your decision to buy something or go to that specific place? Reviews can have a huge effect on the decisions we make – so I am going to be writing reviews on the clubs in our school to help you!
If you’re undecided or don’t have much knowledge on which clubs you would like to go to, you’ve come to the right place.

Firstly, I would like to point out that St Andrews and St Brides has many clubs to offer from boxing to art class and drama. Anything you could possibly imagine, you’ll probably find it here.

First on the list is Netball. Firstly, netball is run by Mrs McQueen and Mrs McParland on Monday after school. Netball is for all year groups, although only for girls. (Sorry boys!)

Trials were held for the First Years on the 4th and 11th of September. From then, second year and the other years are to follow.

When I spoke to Mrs McQueen and Mrs McParland they said there was over 80 girls involved with the netball club from S1 to S6 in 6 teams all together. Since so many people have participated in this year’s S1 trials there will be 2 S1 teams – for the first time ever!

They also mentioned that pupils in netball can get picked to go to the South Lanarkshire District for trials, this applies to all year groups. There are a lot of girls in the St Andrew and St Brides netball teams who are currently district players. Lastly, they said that there is quite a lot of competitions coming up in the future for our netball teams.

Netball is also a great way to make friends, especially for everyone in S1. You will also learn how to work in a team which is a great life skill. Of course, it’s also a way to help you keep fit and keep healthy.

You also get out of class to compete in competitions… which is a great benefit if you ask me!

Overall, I think netball is an amazing sport to play. The club is very well organised and consistent, and you’ll definitely enjoy it even if you’ve never played before.

Now that you have read this – will you go and join netball?
