While many people were enjoying their relaxing summer holidays a tragedy struck Nice France.

On the 14th of July 2016 a lorry ploughed through  a French Resort killing as many as 84 people including 10 children. That day was also Bastille day and many tourists were enjoying the firework show.

The driver was also seen shooting through the window while rampaging through the streets.

The terrorist was later shot by police and other guns and ammunition were found in the back of the vehicle which suggests that the attack was premeditated.

No Britons were killed during the attack but several suffered from minor injuries.

The New Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson tweeted that he was,

“shocked and saddened by the appalling events in Nice, and the terrible loss of life.”

Francios Hollande, the President of France, has released a statement saying that the country and the borders should be strengthened . He also included in the statement that 10,000 military officers will be disbanded across France.

Unfortunately, this is yet another example of innocent lives being taken and our thoughts and prayers should be with those who lost a loved one on what should have been a joyous day of celebration.
