Alan Rickman’s death has come as a shock to millions across the nation. After a short battle with pancreatic cancer, the star died on the 14th of January of 2016 and will be dearly missed from not just his family but his wizarding family as well. Although Rickman is usually associated with the Harry Potter series, he has also been in many others including Love Actually, Die Hard, Prince of Thieves: Robin Hood and Truly Madly Deeply.

His characters were extremely varied but the most well-known character he played was Professor Snape, who was a very mysterious person but from his colleagues they describe as the total opposite, a caring man who was generous with advice for young actors. Another example, from J.K Rowling, ‘He has left a hole in the acting profession which will be hard to fill’. These comments alone just prove how much Rickman was loved and how there will ‘always’ be a place in our hearts for the great Alan Rickman.

‘When I’m 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I’ll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, ‘After all this time?’ And I will say, ‘Always’- Alan Rickman.
