The epic conclusion to the four part movie series ends with a bang. With the books starting off the Hunger Games fame and success, the movies continued the blazing trail and end this moving and profound thriller in movie blockbuster style.

SPOILERS FROM PREVIOUS MOVIES AHEAD:

Mockingjay Part Two picks off where Part One left off and continues the story of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and the uprising that follows her to take down the corrupt and murderous President Snow (Donald Sutherland) with the help of her friends Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) and Finnick (Sam Claflin) whilst also trying to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) from his brainwashed state.

In Katniss’ journey to kill Snow she is helped by leader of the rebellion President Coin (Julianne Moore) and Heavensbee (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) as well as trying to protect her family from Snow and his death he leaves behind. This leads Katniss and her group of friends to the Capitol, and to the heart of the city, where in order to get to Snow’s mansion to stop him from doing any more harm ,they have to face new enemies and threats along the way.

Mockingjay Part Two is a great movie experience, which is thrilling as well as moving – at some points the way that characters are executed without any drama can be hard to watch. The acting is superb as well, and the special effects and story are clearly at their best of all the movies. We have invested a great deal in these characters, and there is a certain degree of pay-off for this. However, the ending seemed rushed as if they had a certain amount of time to finish the movie, but the action and plot of the movie make up for this and in the end finishes The Hunger Games saga in a memorable and bittersweet fashion.

8/10
