The Beast or Intrepid Museum
As most of you are aware, when planning New York trips we always aim to add in a few surprises. We have decided to tell you about one of the surprises to allow us to book tickets.

- Lightweight water proof jacket, this is a must, when it rains in NYC the heavens open!

–Lightweight tops x 3, it gets cold in restaurants and museums due to air-conditioning

– Factor 30+ sunblock (yes factor 30)
- Wash kit (deodorant, toothpaste,soap and other stuff to make you smell nice and clean)
- Towels x2 plus hand towel (hostel does provide towels, but they are really rough)
- Please note that the showers and toilet facilities are shared, you may wish to bring a robe
- Money pouch, compulsory
- Teddy bear (optional)
- Sunglasses
- Small bag for carrying raincoat, bottled water and snacks
- Please do not bring expensive clothing, jewellery.
- Pupils are responsible for your personal belongings and money.
- If you choose to bring MP3 players, games consoles or mobile phones with you, then you do so at your own risk. The insurance policy does not cover for expensive items.
- No Football tops or clothing with inappropriate logos/images
- Staff will ask pupils to change if they feel they are not dressed appropriately

New York City is home to some of the world’s funniest people, like Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, and Jerry Seinfeld.
Any city with the nickname of “Gotham” must have its share of famous criminals, and New York City has plenty of them. Al Capone, Billy the Kid, and David Berkowitz were all from New York City.
Several New Yorkers have been reality television stars, including Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from the show Jersey Shore, and Paul John Teutul from the series American Chopper.

- Passports must be valid for 6 months after departure date
- Passport information and a copy of photo and details page to be submitted January 2018
- Parents/carers/pupils must inform Mrs Bernstein if you are applying for a new passport. Date of submitting passport application should be given.
- You can use your child passport until it expires, even if you’re over 18.
- All passports must be the micro chipped versions (see below).
- Details on how and when to apply for their visa will be given two months prior to departure.
To protect ourselves, we advising all parents/carers and pupils of this current requirement, so they can avoid being refused entry in to the USA.

Please note that the nationals of some countries can only travel to the US if they have a valid visa as they are not eligible for the Visa Waiver Programme. There is a $14 fee per person charge which is payable by credit or debit card when applying. As announced by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, this fee will recover the costs incurred by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection of providing and administering the ESTA system and is in addition to the mandatory $10 travel promotion fee established by the Travel Promotion Act of 2009. This is subject to change.
