Primary 1 were asked to complete an Art and Design homework task; they were asked to design and create either a colourful egg or a chick using any materials. The results were amazing, so much variety. We had models, posters, pictures, Lego and even an egg shaped biscuit!

The chicks are now settling into their new homes; primary one will miss them lots but are happy to see them go somewhere they will have much more room to roam and get up to even more mischief. We have all really enjoyed the experience and we hope you have enjoyed following our journey on our blog.

Well done Primary 1, we are so proud of you all!
Today P1 all had a turn to hold a chick in their hands. The chicks were a bit wriggly sometimes but P1 were very gentle and careful again. Very Responsible Citizens! Please read some diary entries below and take a look at the photos in the gallery.
We made some hatching chick moving pictures. The girls wanted to share their work with you and tell you how we made them.
First, we coloured in with crayon.
Next, we cut it out.
Then, we decorated and coloured in the egg.

We had a very exciting afternoon with the chicks. P1 all had a turn to gently touch and stroke them. The chicks were a bit nervous but all of the boys and girls were very careful to be quiet, slow and gentle with them. Unfortunately, we were concentrating on these things so hard we did not take any pictures! Don’t worry though, you can read about it and see some diary pictures below.
Today our class photographer caught Amirah and Robbie having a little look in on the chicks and Evie and Katie Anna fed them.

Over the weekend the chicks got a little bit bigger, they started to get feathers instead of the soft fluff, their wings are getting bigger and they are starting to jump around. Their beaks are getting bigger too and they are getting noisier as well. They are starting to use their wings like they are trying to fly.

We have missed the chicks over the weekend.
Today we talked about how they have changed so much in only two days and P1 wrote about it in their diaries.
