This week be the last week of homework as we are coming up to the Christmas period.

Homework for this  week is as follows:

Reading: 

Pens and Pencils will get a new book on Monday.

Rulers – Chapter 7 and 8.

Crayons will also get a new book on Monday.

Spelling: 

Backwards spelling or curly writing.

Red: cheese, noise, because, please, ease, pause, tease.

Blue: green, people, which, another, cliff, knock, numb.

Green: five, time, life, line, home, more, school, Mrs.

Maths: 

Sqaures: Revise the 4 times table. Ordering 4 digit numbers from biggest to smallest/smallest to biggest.

Circles: Revise the 5 times table. Revise counting in 20s, 50s, 100s, 200s, 500s and 250s.

Triangles: Revise the 10 times table. Revise counting past 100. Start at any number you want then count up and back down.

Children can also practise the song words in preparation for the school show.

Rulers – Chapter 4 and 5.

Pencils – Pages 4 – 15 if any have not been completed. If and when completed children can use a personal reader from home to complete around 10 minutes of reading a night.

Pens – Pages 16 – 27.

Spelling:

Bubble writing or Curly writing.

Red: school, chorus, chemist, Christmas, chord, headache, choral.

Blue: cliff, cuff, different, knock, knee, know, crumb, climb.

Green: side, white, smile, hide, shine, time, spine.

Maths: 

Squares – Revise the 4 times table.

Circles – Revise the 5 times table and these questions for quick recall – 4+5, 5+6, 6+7, 7+8, 8+9.

Triangles – Revise the 10 times table and these questions for quick recall – 3+8, 3+9, 4+7, 4+8, 4+9.

Children also have been given lyrics for 2 Christmas songs and it would be great if they could do a little practise at home.

Pens and Pencils: This group will be introduced to their new book this week so for homework children can use a personal reader of their choice from home and still continue to complete around 10 minutes of reading each night.

Rulers: Chapter 5, 6 and 7 of book.

Crayons: Pages 21 to the end.

Spelling: 

Sentence for each spelling word.

Red: tried, cried, have, give, live, gentle, giant, danger.

Blue: comb, lamb, climb, crumb, numb, limb.

Green: right, light, bright, sight, fly, cry, try.

Circles: Complete these questions in your jotter. Example: 95-20 (9-2 = 7, 90-20 = 70, 95-20 = 75).

63 – 40, 84 – 30, 74 – 30, 88 – 40, 67 – 50.

Triangles: Complete these questions in your jotter: 40+70, 80+30, 70+50, 30+90, 60+50.

There will be no spelling homework this week.

Homework for this week is as follows:

Spelling: 

Children will be focussing on there spelling words for 2 weeks before moving on to another set. This is to give them more revision in class and at home of these words to ensure consolidation before moving on. Therefore the children will be working on the same words they were given last week.

Task – Blue vowels and red constants OR write 3 times.

Reading: 

Crayons: 17 – 24.

Rulers: Story 2 in your book.

Pens and Pencils: Chapter 9 and 10.

If you finish these pages before the end of the week, please use a personal reader to ensure you are reading at home each night and that you do not read past these pages.

A maths worksheet has been glued into jotters to be completed.
