Homework 23.9.19

As we are off on Friday for the September Holiday, homework will be handed in on Thursday this week.

Can you please make sure that children are not reading past the pages or chapters given. This is very important so that they children can carry out certain tasks in class such as predicting. Please ensure that children have reading books with them in school everyday as these are needed for class tasks.

Homework for this week will be as follows:

 

Maths:

Squares – Revise the 4 times table.

Circles – Revise the 5 times table.

Triangles – Share objects equally to solve these division problems:

16 divided by 4, 12 divided by 3, 8 divided by 4, 20 divided by 4, 20 divided by 2.

 

Reading: 

Crayons: Pages 1 – 8.

Rulers: Story 3 in your book – ‘The Giant Baby’.

Pens and Pencils: Chapter 6 and 7.

 

Spelling: 

Write 3 times:

Red: give, have, live, leave, believe, retrieve, starve, relieve.

Blue: off, cliff, cuff, stiff, different, puff.

Green: high, thigh, right, might, bright, light.

Homework 16.09.19

Homework this week will be as follows:

Reading: 

Pens and Pencils: Chapter 4 and 5.

Rulers: Pages 18-23.

Crayons: Pages 21-32.

 

Spelling: Please choose from either bubble writing, curly writing or air writing.

Blue and green group are going to be working on the same words as last week. 

Red: tell, large, spell, still, saw, supplied, replied.

 

Maths: 

Squares and Circles: Please complete the worksheet that has been glued into your jotter.

Triangles – Halving: Revise sharing objects between 2 people. Can you share them fairly/equally? How much does each person have? Revise counting in 2s and 5s.

Homework 09.09.19

Homework for this week is as follows:

Reading: 

Children have been given their class reading books home today along with reading book folders. Please ensure books are kept inside the folders when not in use and that books are brought back into school everyday so children can use them during lessons.

Each group will be a given pages/chapters to read. These pages do not need to be read in one night but should be finished by Friday. Please do not read past the pages/chapters given, this is so children are able to take part in activities in class such as predicting etc. 

Rulers: Pages 1-17

Crayons: Pages 11-20

Pens and Pencils: Chapter 2 and 3.

 

Spelling:

Write each of your words two times. First write them in lower case, then write them in upper case.

Red: tried, fried, flies, ties, cries, replied, pie, magpie.

Blue: father, mother, never, these, four, jump, head, miss.

Green:  how, where, now, too, round, found, wish, men.

 

Maths: 

  • Squares: Complete these equations in your jotter. Here is an example:   66+51= 117
  • Lay out as shown in the example.                                                                                110+7= 117
  1. 23+45=      2. 63+51=     3. 52+73=     4. 43+84=
  • Circles: Complete the same questions as the Squares however lay them out as shown:   66+51= 
  •                   60+50 = 110
  •                   6+1 = 8
  •                   110+8 = 118

 

  • Triangles: Write out each equation as repeated addition.
  1. 3×4 =
  2. 5×2 =
  3. 6×3 =
  4. 5×6 =
  5. 7×2=

Homework 02.09.19

Homework for this week is as follows:

Spelling:

Write the words with blue vowels and red consonants.

Red: watch, match, wrap, wrong, bread, learn, want, wander.

Blue: miss, press, mess, these, delete, theme, chill, ball.

Green: owl, how, now, cow, bounce, couch, around, loud.

 

Maths: 

Circles: Revise these equations for quick recall:

  • 4+5, 5+6, 6+7, 7+8, 8+9.
  • Continue to revise the 5 times table.

Squares: 

  • With a partner, come up with 4, 5 and 6 digit numbers and try to read them aloud.
  • Partition some 3 and 4 digit numbers. E.g. 342 can be split into 300, 40 and 2.

Triangles: 

  • Revise counting in 1s, 2s, 5s and 25s.

 

Reading: 

Children can choose a book of their choice at home and complete around 10-15 minutes of reading each night. Children will be learning and revising different reading strategies during class time so class books will not be sent home at this time.
