A huge well done for all the children who recited Ma Hauf Sookit Sweetie today….you really were fantastic. I had a very hard job choosing a winner and had to ask two of the school Captains to help. After much discussion they have chosen David as the winner and Peyton as the runner up. So well done to you both you did a great job.
David will perform at the Scottish Assembly on Wednesday 29th January, and Peyton will be his understudy.
Thank you to all the support from our families, the children well very well rehearsed and recited in the Scots Language excellently!!!
Another thank you to Myas’ mum who sent in this book for us to read at story time. The children enjoyed hearing the story with all the Scottish words.
She said that Mya has loved learning about Scotland and is always on the look our for spotting Scottish Flags. Well done Mya!!
In our mini Scotland Topic, we had great fun designing our own tartan patterns with card!
They look like little tartan kilts!!!
Fantastic work Primary 1 !!!
We had lots of fun today playing and learning about ‘long’ and ‘short’.
This is a long shark and a short shark.
This is a long train and a short train.
This is a long train track and a short train track.
This is a long string of magnets and a short string of magnets.
Some animals have long necks and and some have short necks.
We drew pictures of people with short hair and long hair.
We made a long string of cubes and a short string of cubes.
Fantastic learning today and good fun too.
Mrs Graham has kindly allowed us to video her reciting Ma Hauf Sookit Sweetie in her beautiful Doric accent. This will help the Primary 1 children to learn the poem for our whole school Scottish Assembly at the end of this month. Click link below to watch.
