At Jackton Nursery, we understand that even our youngest learners are growing up in a digital world. While children in the early years may have limited access to technology, it\u2019s never too early to start building healthy and safe online habits.<\/p>\n
We encourage parents and carers to:<\/p>\n
Supervise screen time \u2013 Always stay nearby when young children are using digital devices.<\/p>\n
Use age-appropriate apps and websites \u2013 Choose high-quality content designed for early years, and avoid platforms with unfiltered access to the internet.<\/p>\n
Set clear boundaries \u2013 Establish simple rules around screen use, such as time limits and device-free routines (e.g. during meals or bedtime).<\/p>\n
Model safe behaviour \u2013 Children learn by watching adults. Show positive digital habits like asking permission, using devices for learning and fun, and taking breaks.<\/p>\n
Talk early and often \u2013 Teach children that if they ever see something that upsets or confuses them, they should always tell a trusted adult.<\/p>\n
