Pupils have settled well into learning routines and are working well towards learning targets.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Thank you\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Parent Teacher Council (PTC) made a generous donation to the school to enable staff to purchase much needed stationery resources to support learning (whiteboards pens, rulers etc).\u00a0 This will support the experiences of children in classes.\u00a0 There was a further donation made to support festive events within the school.<\/p>\n<p>We are very grateful for the ongoing support of the PTC and the generosity of parents in supporting the fundraising events.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Halloween Disco\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The PTC will be holding a Halloween disco on 27th October. Children are invited to come along in fancy dress.\u00a0 To ensure children can benefit from the full disco slot and avoid long queues, I would advise purchasing your child&#8217;s ticket in advance via Parentpay. The option to pay using Parentpay will close at 5pm on 27th October and after this time children need to pay in cash at the door.<\/p>\n<p>Primary 1 &#8211; 3 disco 6-7pm<br \/>\nPrimary 4-7 disco 7.15-8.15pm.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Wheelie Wednesday\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Primary 7 learners are organising an event to raise money that can be used to support pupil experiences. This will include events within and outwith the school and nursery this session.<\/p>\n<p>The sponsored event is taking place on Wednesday 12<sup>th<\/sup> October 2022 (weather permitting).\u00a0 Pupils will be challenged to travel around a designated route in the playground as many times as they can in an allocated time.<\/p>\n<p>Nursery to Primary 3: 20 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Primary 4 and 5: 25 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Primary 6 and 7: 30 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Pupils are invited to bring in a wheeled item inclusive of bikes, scooters, roller skates, a doll\u2019s pram or even a wheelbarrow on this day.\u00a0 Be as creative as you wish so long as the item does not require power and can be manually moved.\u00a0 We will tag and store the item in the flower pot garden for the duration of the day.\u00a0 If you are happy for your child\u2019s wheeled item to be shared with another child who needs to borrow on the day please indicate this on the permission form.<\/p>\n<p>A sponsor form created by a Primary 7 pupil has been sent home and we ask that any sponsor money is returned to school from 12<sup>th<\/sup> October and no later than Friday 16<sup>th<\/sup> October. Primary 7 children will benefit from the experience of counting and banking the money collected.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Inservice Training for Staff<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We have now finalised the agenda for the November inservice day based on our school improvement plan.<\/p>\n<p>In November, Simon Knight (Outdoor Play and Learning) will lead staff in developing the curriculum outdoors, risk-benefit assessments and an environmental audit.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Tracking and Monitoring\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Next week,\u00a0 we will review the progress of our pupils and will identify pupils who need additional support to achieve. We explore a wide range of barriers to learning including low attendance, specific learning difficulties and\u00a0 difficulty settling to learn in class. Individual plans are then put in place within the class and school to ensure that all pupils get the support they need to achieve.
