Staff welcomed the children back to school remotely after the long weekend and it has been lovely hearing about the children’s adventures in the snow and around the local area. We are hoping to welcome Nursery – P3 pupils back to school classrooms soon and expect the Scottish Government to make a further announcement regarding this next week. As soon as further information is available, this will be shared with families.
Nursery Applications
The closing date for Nursery applications for session 2021/2022 is 28th February 2021. If you have a child who is 3 years old between 1st March 2021 and 28th February 2022 then you can apply for a nursery application form. Please contact the school office on 01355 221042 to request an application form.
Any applications received after this date will be categorised as a late application by South Lanarkshire Council .
Winter Jackets
South Lanarkshire Council recently organised a winter jacket campaign. Members of the public were invited to donate new or nearly new jackets for redistribution. There are sizes from 0-3 months through to adult sizes. If your children would benefit from receiving a donated jacket, please call the school and speak with Miss Wharton and she will try and arrange this for you.
Lateral Flow Testing
All staff working in the school and nursery have been invited to participate in the COVID 19 asymptomatic testing programme using lateral flow testing kits. Staff are able to test twice weekly at home and receive results within 30 minutes of a positive, negative or void test result.
By testing twice weekly, staff members who have coronavirus but show no symptoms can be identified at the earliest opportunity and reduce the overall risk of transmission in the school and nursery setting.
Staff will begin testing on Sunday 15th February 2021 and this will continue for the foreseeable future.
