News Reporters week commencing 8th May

Our news reporters this week are Chloe and Rocco.

Last week William brought us news that due to the popularity of books such as Harry Potter, there has been an increase in the number of children’s books being bought which is great to hear!!! Saranna also brought us a fascinating story about a young girl in America who had a special prosthetic arm made for her via a 3D printer which has allowed her to play the violin.

Homework week commencing 8th May

Homework this week is:

  • one maths worksheet based on division which also includes a game
  • play the doubling and halving maths games which you can access from the links on the Blog
  • spelling
  • one activity from Section B of your Reading Challenge Activities (which should be recorded in your language homework jotter).  You can base the reading challenge on the book you used previously for the Section A activity or a new book.

For spelling just follow the normal procedure below:

write your words three times in your homework jotter – remember a date and heading and underline

traffic light each word

use at least 5 in a paragraph/short story

spell each word aloud to someone at home – don’t move onto the next word until you have mastered the one you are on

 

This Friday, we are learning how to do CPR so if possible, can you please bring in a teddy bear in order to practise on in class.

Homework week commencing 24th April

Homework this week is spelling, a maths worksheet and games on Studyladder and a reading activity.  For the spelling, repeat the new method we have been using:

write your words three times in your homework jotter – remember a date and heading and underline

traffic light each word

use at least 5 in a paragraph/short story

spell each word aloud to someone at home – don’t move onto the next word until you have mastered the one you are on

 

For maths, we are moving onto division in class which requires a sound knowledge of times tables so you have one multiplication worksheet to complete and several games on Studyladder to support this.

 

For your reading activity, choose one activity from Section A of the ‘Reading Challenge Activities’ worksheet you have been issued and record it in your homework jotter.  You can base this on your home lending book or a book from home.

Homework week commencing 27th March

Due to Parent’s night and the upcoming Easter holidays, there will be no spelling or maths homework this week.

The only homework is your preparation for parent’s night.  Show your jotters to your parents and your two stars and  a wish comment sheet.  Look through your jotters with your parents and ask them to put a comment on your sheet.  REMEMBER ALL JOTTERS MUST BE RETURNED ON TUESDAY 28TH MARCH!
